The Philosophy of Ember & Ash

Welcome! My name is Reagan. For nearly a decade, I have walked alongside patients and their families as a medical social worker, helping them navigate some of the hardest moments life can throw — brain injury, stroke, cancer, dementia, and other acute or chronic medical conditions. It was in this space where grief, shock, resilience, and hope all collide that I found my passion. I knew I wanted to support people as they make meaning from pain, rebuild after loss, and find ways to hold their grief, one vulnerable step at a time. This path eventually led me to expand my work into individual and couples counseling, where I could go deeper, sit longer, and hold space for the scary, messy, beautiful parts of being a person.

The name Ember & Ash comes from my belief that healing often requires fire. Sometimes, we have to let go of what’s no longer serving us, even if it once felt essential. Sometimes we have to turn toward the pain we've tried to avoid so we can finally put it to rest. And sometimes we discover quiet embers inside us, hopes, ideas, parts of ourselves, just waiting for breath and space to ignite.

Therapy is hard. Being vulnerable is hard. If you’re ready, I’m here to walk with you and I will strive for you to to feel seen, heard, and deeply understood. Someone once told me, “I know you could be great, if you let yourself get there.” It took me a while to understand what that meant. But now, I do. And I offer the same words to you: You can get wherever you want to go — as long as you give yourself the space, the grace, and the courage to begin.
